The Motheo Academy is on Track
The Motheo Academy is hard at work making sure that young people are soaking up knowledge and skills.
Motheo Academy are eagerly awaiting the green-light from Construction SETA regarding the 2018 discretionary grants awards which is planned to happen in late March. This process will allow Motheo Academy to get stuck into new projects across the country. Here is a look at what the academy has been up to: The Motheo Academy has projects coming to a close in Westbury, Fraser House and Palm Ridge on a Construction Trade Learnership. These learnerships are made up of unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 29. A group of selected Motheo employees are also working with the academy on a Management Learnership. A culture of strong leadership has been the cornerstone of Motheo, so the need to pass on some of those skills is something we take seriously. This Management Learnership is taking place in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal. Another group of Motheo employees is working on a Business Administration Learnership, also based in Gauteng and KwaZulu Natal. The projects above come to an end in April, leaving many empowered with tools and skills to make it in the working world. LAUNCHING NEW PROGRAMMES The new quarter will see one of our suppliers, Robmeg Steel, funding two groups of learners in the acquiring of new skills. The one group will consist of 20 unemployed youth being enrolled onto a Welding Learnership and incorporated into their workplace, and the other will be existing Robmeg staff that will be focusing on Business Administration.
