A Head Above The Rest

With excellence and diligence being part of Khanyi Chaba’s DNA, it was with great pride that we had her join the Motheo Construction Group as a Non-Executive Director.

Khanyi Chaba’s name has become synonymous with caring about giving back to communities while also being stellar in the corporate space. She has many qualifications to her name, including qualified Architectural Technologist (UJ), Interior Designer and Decorator (VEGA), Marketing Management (IMM), a certificate in Sustainability Development (Cambridge), Business Management (UCT) and General Management (GIBS). Khanyi has also worn many hats over the years including being a Chairperson of South African Women in Construction (SAWIC), a member of the Construction Industry Development Board and being Deputy Chairperson of the Soweto Plough Back Project. Khanyi currently heads up the Responsible Business department at Old Mutual Passionate about educating children from disadvantaged communities, Khanyi has done extensive work in this field. She has also teamed up with our founder, Dr Thandi and her foundation to aid young people who have huge potential further their education. The things that Khanyi shares with the Motheo founders and directors go beyond the boardroom. The Motheo founders have developed a reputation as the mountan climbing crew having climbed various major mountains including Kilamanjaro twice, Mount Kenya and most recently climbing to Everest Base Camp. Khanyi can definitely keep up having completed the Comrades Marathon ten times, the Two Oceans marathon ten times and the top 6 World Major International Marathons. She also has completed the Great Wall of China Marathon and summited Mount Kilamanjaro – pretty impressive. The synergy between her beliefs and the beliefs that built the Motheo Construction Group is an easy one to see. Khanyi joined the Motheo Construction Group as a non-executive director at the end of 2017 and we believe the working relationship will be a succesful one that will have a positive impact.
