The end of 2017 marked the Motheo Group adding new members to their board of directors and Palesa Mkabane is one of them.
Experience, excellent and the desire to contribute positively to any organisation are markers for success. They are also some of the qualities that were impressive about Palesa Mkabane. The 38-year-old joined The Motheo Group as a Non-Executive Director at the end of 2017. Hers was an addition that everyone agreed would be a great benefit to the business. Palesa has been working as the Senior Process Engineer in the Water Treatment Plant at the Eskom Kriel Power Station since 2012. Her responsibilities are vast, including optimisation of production of the water treatment plant to ensure that it operates as it should, implementation of life of plant plan with budget financials and development and implementation of plant maintenance strategies for long term plant health, among other responsibilities. Palesa has worked with Eskom for 11 years in various roles. Before that, she worked with Sasol Synthetic Fuels as well as Mersiol RSA. Her skillset and training also includes Mentoring and Coaching, Self-Management and Situational Leadership and Management. Palesa joined the Motheo Group board alongside Khanyi Chaba, who is also a Non-Executive Director.
